May 03 2019

India's one of the leading Tech Giant Tech Mahindra will be applying an anti-spam solution backed up by Blockchain as per the reports shared by Business Today on May 2. The firm wants to use Blockchain Technology to reduce spam calls for the telecom sector, which is affecting over 300 million mobile subscribers.

This solution will enable phone companies to follow the regulations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to safeguard mobile phone subscribers from Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC), which will be applicable from the last week of May.

As per one of the press release back in 2018, Tech Mahindra developed a Blockchain Solution which consists of more than 25% of the Indian Market Share, in consent with the regulations and guidelines of TRAI in order to allow telecom providers prevent unauthorized access of their subscriber's data.

Rajesh Dhuddu, who is Global Practice Leader of Blockchain at Tech Mahindra said, the modern technology is in the radar of corporates and governments alike and it is anticipated to be a trillion-dollar market in 2030.

With the combined and coordinated efforts by the Indian Government and the industry supported by suitable regulation, India can proceed to maintain and improve its leadership position in Blockchain Technology, he said.

Rajesh said,

"At Tech Mahindra, we are betting big on Blockchain as part of our TechMNxt charter (global programme rolled out to explore emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and Cybersecurity among others), to deliver tangible business value and empower our customers to provide a completely differentiated experience to their end customers."

As one of the essential part of TechMNxt, "Tech Mahindra is gradually investing in upcoming technologies to provide to the customer's evolving and dynamic needs." TechMahindra is currently implementing Blockchain capabilities in various sectors such as Hi-Tech Industries, Telecom, Manufacturing, and Financial Services.

For instance, in Financial Sector Tech Mahindra has developed a solution for one of the leading public sector banks in India to offer a permanent record of audit transactions and allow a single view of transaction data from multiple systems on the blockchain.
